Base Salary

$200k - $225k/yr

Responsibilities

Triage and resolve internal and customer-found issues.
Write feature specifications covering requirements and detailed design.
Implement product improvements and features individually or as part of a team.
Evaluate and integrate third-party libraries.
Peer review feature specifications, code, test plans, and other engineering documents.
Improve the performance and scalability of existing features and solutions.
Help interview, onboard, and mentor new hires.
Work with customer and product teams to understand new requirements.
Plan, schedule, track, and periodically report project status to customer delivery.
Drive engineering-wide initiatives for quality and scaling of shipping products and technologies.
Participate in architecture and design of new engineering initiatives.
Consider filing patents for product innovations.
Participate in technical industry engagements through papers, blogs, talks, and standards.

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent degree.
16+ years of hands-on development experience.
Ability to write high-quality C, C++, Go, and Python code.
Experience designing and developing large-scale control-plane protocols, including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, LDP, and MPLS.
Experience designing and developing Layer 2 technologies, including STP, PVST, and MSTP.
Experience with control-plane infrastructure including TCP/IP, RIB, FIB, BFD, IPC, interfaces, and events.
Experience with overlay technologies including L3VPN, EVPN, and VXLAN.
Experience with segment-routing fabrics using SR-MPLS and SRv6.
Experience troubleshooting large-scale deployments.
Experience with model-based manageability frameworks using YANG, XML, and JSON.
Prior experience at a venture-backed company is a big plus.
