Responsibilities

  • Architect and build complex user-facing features across DeepL’s identity stack from problem definition through deployment and production reliability.
  • Own organization, account, session management, SSO federation, SCIM provisioning, and OIDC provider systems for internal and external users.
  • Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable authentication and authorization systems for millions of users.
  • Lead incident response, production operations, on-call, monitoring, and efforts to improve operational health toward four nines.
  • Lead technical designs, scoping, and problem-solving with Identity, product, product management, support, and adjacent engineering teams.
  • Use C#/.NET Core, Kubernetes, Postgres, and appropriate additional tools to solve customer problems pragmatically.
  • Use AI-powered tools for boilerplate code, test generation, and debugging.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise designing scalable backend systems and distributed architectures in production.
  • Strong system design skills and an understanding of failure modes, system boundaries, and large-scale high availability.
  • Experience or interest in B2B SaaS identity domains including authentication, SSO/OIDC, authorization, security, and auditing.
  • Ability to own services end-to-end, including production operations, incident response, on-call, testing, and monitoring.
  • Frontend experience with React and JavaScript is welcome but not required.
  • Ability to use AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
