Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud frameworks, deployments, shared services, and deployment architectures using AWS best practices.
- Drive cloud deployment discussions covering trade-offs, best practices, risk mitigation, architecture reviews, and cost management.
- Plan and deploy product releases with Product, Support, Cloud Platform, Operations, and engineering teams.
- Develop monitoring, alerting, trend analysis, self-healing systems, and operational readiness for highly available services.
- Provide technical analysis and problem resolution in a 24/7 production environment while participating in an on-call rotation.
- Educate and mentor engineers, operations staff, and other departments on AWS concepts and cloud practices.
- Research emerging cloud technologies, conduct proofs of concept, and reduce toil and technical debt through automation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of systems or applications automation experience in 24x7 production support environments.
- 5+ years of DevOps, preferably DevSecOps, or SRE experience in an AWS cloud environment.
- Strong experience configuring, managing, designing, and architecting AWS services including Lambda, EC2, ECS, ELB, EventBridge, Kinesis, Route 53, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, CloudTrail, API Gateway, CloudFront, VPC, Transit Gateway, IAM, Security Hub, and Service Mesh.
- Fluency in one or more scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Perl, PHP, or Ruby, and/or Java or .NET development experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with IAM, Active Directory, ADFS, SAML 2.0, and single sign-on practices.
- Experience with configuration management tooling, application deployment, workflow orchestration, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automation.
- Proficiency in Terraform.
- Preferred experience with CloudFormation or Ansible, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar development tools, API-first services, large-scale environments, and Kubernetes.
- A background in system administration, networking, or security is preferred.
