Responsibilities
- Interview engineering teams to identify workflow pain points and prioritize tools or architectural improvements.
- Design and implement reusable patterns with Nest.js, React.js, and TypeScript.
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries and Kafka producer/consumer patterns for performance and reliable message delivery.
- Own Kubernetes and ArgoCD configurations for automated and safe deployments.
- Lead cross-team technical challenges, shared-library re-architecture, service communication improvements, and legacy-code modernization.
- Research and roll out internal tools, libraries, frameworks, CI/CD improvements, local-development enhancements, and observability solutions.
- Mentor and coach engineers, lead code reviews, and provide documentation, workshops, and one-on-one support.
- Drive improvements in deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, recovery time, latency, developer velocity, and knowledge distribution.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a record of leading teams and providing technical direction.
- Prior experience on Platform, Infrastructure, or Developer Experience teams.
- Deep professional expertise in the Node.js and TypeScript ecosystem, including scaling Nest.js backends and React.js frontends.
- Hands-on experience managing containerized workloads with Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, including query optimization and schema design, and Kafka event-driven architecture.
- Experience replacing complex legacy code with scalable and maintainable architecture.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and turn technical frustrations into prioritized roadmaps.
- Demonstrated mentorship, technical career development, psychological safety, trust-building, and engineering-quality leadership.
- Preferred experience with AWS services including MSK, RDS, EKS, S3, and Lambda; Redshift; Terraform; Redis; Python; Celery; SQLAlchemy; and serverless computing.
