Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver new software features across Verily’s technology stack.
- Build modular, composable, and interoperable platform components for precision health data storage, processing, and product frameworks.
- Develop software using GitHub, Google Cloud, Go, Docker, Terraform, and other industry-standard tools.
- Analyze technical design problems, compare implementation options, and propose solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with the development team while working independently.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
- At least 2 years of experience as an industry software developer.
- Experience building software and systems on GCP, AWS, or Azure, with GCP preferred.
- Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Go, Python, or JavaScript.
- Preferred experience with Go, Java, Python, and/or SQL.
- Preferred proficiency in Apache Beam and related technologies for data ingestion and processing.
- Preferred understanding of ETL principles and best practices.
- Preferred experience designing and implementing scalable data-processing pipelines with Bioquery or other analytics-oriented databases.
- Preferred education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, especially HL7 FHIR.
Benefits
- Canada base salary range of CAD 146,500–164,500 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
- Full-time position based in Canada.
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada; employment-based visa or work permit sponsorship is unavailable for this position.
