Responsibilities
- Design, code, enhance, and support scalable backend and BFF applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs and aggregation layers for Web, Mobile, Smart TV, and Set-Top Box platforms.
- Integrate AWS services including Lambda, ECS, EKS, Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Define API contracts, data models, caching strategies, resiliency patterns, and distributed-system designs.
- Lead feature delivery from technical design through deployment and support automated testing, release validation, rollback, and production support.
- Manage dependencies, security updates, platform upgrades, performance optimization, incident troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Provide effort estimates, technical guidance, risk assessments, stakeholder collaboration, and developer mentoring.
- Participate in on-call and production support activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience is required, with a stated minimum of 8 years of relevant Node.js and AWS experience and 15 years of total experience.
- Minimum 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, AWS application development, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Express.js, Fastify, or NestJS; relational and NoSQL databases; Jest, Mocha, Supertest, and API testing.
- Experience with Git, Docker, infrastructure as code, blue-green and canary deployments, production support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred experience includes OTT, streaming, broadcast, digital media, HLS, DASH, DRM, SSAI, CDN, Video-on-Demand, AWS Elemental services, CloudFront, GraphQL Federation, BFF architecture, Kafka, Step Functions, Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Redis, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, Elastic, OpenTelemetry, AWS certifications, ServiceNow, and ITSM processes.
- AWS Developer is identified as the mandatory primary skill.
