Base Salary

$121k - $171k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead scalable, high-performance backend applications for Citi’s Insight regulatory reporting framework.
  • Design and implement solutions using Java, Spring Boot, SQL, real-time messaging technologies, and Big Data platforms.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines and analytical workflows supporting reliable regulatory reporting.
  • Define and enforce standards for coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and application architecture.
  • Evaluate complex business and system processes, resolve high-impact technical problems, and conduct architectural trade-off analysis.
  • Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, management, business, and cross-functional teams to deliver system enhancements and new capabilities.
  • Mentor and coach mid-level developers and analysts, provide technical direction, and allocate work.
  • Assess engineering risks and ensure compliance, data integrity, and adherence to applicable policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of hands-on software development experience, focused on backend engineering and enterprise-scale systems.
  • Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with advanced knowledge of SQL and real-time messaging technologies.
  • Experience designing software architecture and delivering microservices-based architectures in production.
  • Proven leadership and people-management skills, including guiding engineering teams and allocating work.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical trade-off analysis abilities.
  • Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular and the ability to contribute across the full stack are highly preferred.
