Responsibilities
- Review code and web template submissions across Web Themes, UI Templates, Site Templates, Template Kits, WordPress themes and plugins, scripts, plugins, code assets, front-end components, dashboards, landing pages, HTML templates, and related web products.
- Assess submissions against technical, quality, usability, documentation, security, and commercial standards.
- Evaluate design quality, code quality, functionality, responsiveness, browser compatibility, accessibility, performance, security, dependency management, documentation, installation, setup experience, originality, and commercial value.
- Reject submissions that fail marketplace standards because of poor code, broken functionality, insufficient documentation, security risks, excessive dependencies, low originality, poor usability, intellectual property risks, or limited commercial value.
- Provide clear, objective, and constructive review outcomes.
- Identify complex, ambiguous, and high-risk submissions and escalate them to appropriate stakeholders.
- Recognize emerging category risks, contributor patterns, and quality concerns affecting marketplace standards and customer trust.
- Support calibration activities and contribute to review documentation, category standards, technical benchmarks, and reviewer enablement materials.
- Identify recurring contributor issues, operational bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve review quality, efficiency, and consistency.
- Stay current with modern web development, WordPress, JavaScript frameworks, UI/UX trends, plugin ecosystems, marketplace expectations, and AI-assisted development.
- Support the evolution of the review function and act as a subject matter expert through knowledge sharing, reviewer development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain productivity and turnaround expectations without compromising quality, consistency, or customer trust.
Requirements
- Strong full-stack development background across front-end and back-end web development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress themes and plugins, scripts, and web templates.
- Working knowledge of responsive design, browser compatibility, performance optimization, accessibility, clean code, documentation, version compatibility, dependencies, and user setup experience.
- Ability to identify broken functionality, poor code structure, security weaknesses, performance issues, unsupported dependencies, and usability problems.
- Ability to make consistent, objective, well-reasoned review decisions across multiple asset categories.
- Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to use AI-assisted tools for review throughput, code analysis, and workflow efficiency.
- Professional proficiency in English and ability to collaborate in remote or hybrid global teams.
- Previous experience reviewing or creating digital marketplace assets is a plus.
- Familiarity with Envato marketplaces, ThemeForest, and CodeCanyon is a plus.
- Experience in QA, technical validation, software testing, content review, marketplace operations, process improvement, reviewer calibration, documentation, or category quality standards is a plus.
- Familiarity with intellectual property, licensing, open-source dependencies, and AI-assisted code-generation risks is a plus.
