Base Salary
$164k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write production-grade Python code, participate in code reviews and pair programming, and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Build, operate, and improve ML training and serving infrastructure on Google Cloud and Kubernetes.
- Design and maintain infrastructure for internally hosted and open-source LLMs, including deployment, resource management, and performance tuning.
- Apply ML fundamentals, deep learning, transformer architecture, prediction, and inference knowledge to infrastructure decisions.
- Partner with Applied Scientists to translate training and serving needs into self-service infrastructure.
- Design large-scale systems while balancing performance, cost, reliability, scalability, and observability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of professional experience building, iterating on, and troubleshooting complex backend and infrastructure systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and production-ready Python development.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud, and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Familiarity with observability tooling such as metrics, logging, and tracing for distributed systems.
- Working knowledge of machine learning fundamentals, LLM serving infrastructure, open-source model hosting, and transformer architectures.
- Ability to design high-scale, high-availability infrastructure.
