Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production MCP servers, tool and resource definitions, and context-management capabilities.
- Design intent evaluation, classification, routing, API orchestration, and multi-source data aggregation workflows.
- Integrate Anthropic and OpenAI models into production environments.
- Manage prompt versioning, fallback strategies, and LLM performance optimization.
- Develop evaluation frameworks and write SQL against model inputs and outputs for quality validation and monitoring.
- Support backend behavior for the chat and MCP interface and make safe, incremental changes in a partially documented Python codebase.
- Collaborate with software engineers and AI specialists on production-ready AI solutions and AI platform design.
- Continuously improve AI systems through experimentation, optimization, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and production backend engineering practices, including APIs, asynchronous I/O, typing and schema validation, error handling, and testing.
- Strong SQL skills with cloud data warehouses; Snowflake is preferred.
- Hands-on experience building production-grade LLM and agentic AI applications.
- Must have personally authored and deployed an MCP server used by other users or systems, not merely consumed one or built a local proof of concept.
- Experience with MCP tool and resource definitions, context management, multi-step orchestration, transports, and authentication or authorization patterns.
- Experience integrating hosted LLM APIs such as Anthropic and OpenAI in production.
- Experience with prompt engineering, prompt versioning, fallback strategies, intent classification and routing, conversational AI, multi-API orchestration, and LLM evaluation methodologies.
- Hands-on experience adding significant features to a production Python codebase and working with brownfield systems.
- Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and technical explanation skills.
- Strong spoken English at B2+ level for technical discussions with U.S.-based stakeholders.
- Preferred experience includes Hugging Face models, GPU acceleration, inference optimization, MLOps, vector databases, RAG, applied NLP, client-facing AI products, and AWS services.
