Base Salary

$110k - $260k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical strategy and execution of roadmaps that improve product delivery velocity and engineering capabilities.
  • Design, build, enhance, and scale high-performance, low-maintenance, zero-downtime software systems.
  • Provide technical and thought leadership across multiple enterprise areas and influence product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with product managers, customers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to solve complex problems.
  • Use Java, C#, Python, SQL, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure services in software solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and product community members, share best practices, and influence and educate executives.
  • Analyze costs, forecast requirements, support resource planning, evaluate operations, and measure outcomes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience within a Java framework, including J2EE, web containers, and Java.
  • 8+ years of architecture and design experience, 6+ years with open-source frameworks, and 4+ years with a cloud service such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Fluency and specialization in at least two modern languages such as Java, C++, Python, or C#, including object-oriented design.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms and experience solving analytical problems quantitatively.
  • Experience designing architectures and systems for reliability, scalability, design patterns, and extensibility.
  • Experience with continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, microservices-oriented architecture, REST APIs, developer tooling, and application monitoring.
  • Fluency in DevOps concepts, cloud architecture, Azure DevOps operational frameworks, PowerShell, Azure Portal, and Azure network capabilities.
  • Knowledge of datacenter structure, Azure native services, Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth, and security protocols and products.
  • Experience designing experiments, influencing engineering direction, partnering with engineering teams, and transferring research into production.
  • A track record of publications in credible conferences and journals and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
