
Payroll System Developer

Responsibilities
- Analyze and document mainframe and payroll migration procedures.
- Author functional specifications and coordinate reviews with business owners and technical staff.
- Research issues with technical job administrators and support personnel and implement solutions.
- Plan, review, execute, and quality-assure software migrations across required environments.
- Migrate source code, object code, load modules, DBRMs, copybooks, JCL, PROCs, and control cards, including compiling, linking, and binding components.
- Maintain production JCL procedures, add new programs to Golden copies in test environments, and support production migrations.
- Coordinate migration tasks with Configuration Management, Tech Support, and responsible departments and document migration numbers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical/business discipline.
- Experience compiling, linking, and binding COBOL programs.
- Proficiency with JCL and experience with mainframe or midrange configuration management.
- Experience with Rational ClearQuest, ClearCase, and TSO/ISPF.
- Knowledge of DB2 and IMS DB/DC.
- Strong understanding of standard system development life cycle methodologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- PeopleSoft and UNIX experience are a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
