Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, maintenance, testing strategy, and operations of Java API services.
- Build complex, scalable software systems and own solutions from ideation through implementation and ongoing support.
- Collaborate on architecture and design sessions while ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with BNY's engineering strategy.
- Work with Product Management, User Experience, clients, and engineering leads to define requirements, milestones, and functionality.
- Modernize an accounting system and transform monolithic applications into microservices.
- Develop and maintain distributed, multi-tenant applications using cloud services, databases, and data-processing technologies.
- Use AI-assisted software development tools for code generation, debugging, code review, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering is required.
- At least 4 years of proven commercial experience with Java-related technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience building and delivering complex, highly scalable software systems.
- Experience with multiple programming languages, distributed and big data technologies, public cloud providers, and SaaS technologies.
- Experience with Azure or AWS, Kafka, Spark, microservices, and REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Working knowledge of relational and in-memory databases including Oracle and Redis.
- Experience building multi-tenant applications and working with testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar LLM-based tools.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Experience developing or maintaining applications in C++ is preferred.
