Base Salary

$131k - $158k/yr

Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, and optimize GIS-driven web mapping capabilities for VA systems.
Support cemetery mapping, operational GIS functions, geospatial data pipelines, and geospatial user experiences.
Manage GIS data models, ETL pipelines, geospatial integrations, and authoritative geospatial data sources.
Integrate GIS data pipelines, mapping services, APIs, visualization layers, databases, and microservices into web applications.
Build GIS-enabled UI/UX components using modern web technologies and ensure responsive user experiences.
Maintain accurate and current geospatial information across VA systems.
Collaborate with GIS Data/API Integration Engineers and support VA business logic and product-line needs.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT-related field.
7–10 years of professional experience.
Experience developing web mapping applications, geospatial visualizations, and spatially enabled systems.
Experience integrating GIS services, APIs, ETL pipelines, and authoritative geospatial data sources.
Experience with enterprise GIS, mapping libraries, spatial databases, web mapping APIs/SDKs, spatial services, JavaScript or TypeScript, responsive UX, and automated testing.
Experience supporting continuous integration and automated testing in Agile environments.
Public Trust experience is preferred.
Experience supporting VA National Cemetery Administration memorial services, including eligibility, burial scheduling, interment, or monuments, is preferred.
Experience supporting a VA Product Owner is preferred.
