Software Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design, build, deliver, and maintain software applications and services across machine, cloud, platform, and application areas.
- Participate in software lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, implementation, documentation, refactoring, and testing.
- Write code that meets standards and delivers required functionality using the selected project technology.
- Assess application performance and understand relevant performance parameters.
- Apply core data structures and algorithms to software development.
- Break down problems, estimate development tasks, clarify requirements, and take responsibility for assigned deliverables.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and experiment with new software frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a college or university.
- 3 to 5 years of software development experience.
- Experience with technologies such as C#, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and NodeJS.
- Experience with React and Angular frameworks.
- Experience with PowerShell, networking, and Windows.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of vulnerabilities and SSDLC.
- Awareness of software development lifecycle practices, software and product security, scalability, documentation, refactoring, testing techniques, and continuous integration.
- Cyber software development experience is advantageous.
- Exposure to CIS Benchmarks, Trellix, Acronis, the Cyber Resilience Act, and IEC 62443 standards for OT or industrial cybersecurity is advantageous.
- Ability to understand data structures and algorithms, application performance, technology choices, customer value, and software development estimation.
