Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy system software throughout the software lifecycle.
- Design and implement software for embedded devices and systems.
- Design and implement Microsoft Windows desktop software.
- Participate in architecture reviews, requirements reviews, and peer reviews of work products.
- Review code and designs and estimate software development tasks and resource requirements.
- Develop software requirements specifications and software documentation.
- Travel up to 10% CONUS and OCONUS.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering and 15 years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
- Proven experience designing embedded systems with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems such as VxWorks or Green Hills.
- Proficiency in C and C++.
- Knowledge of IBM Rational DOORS, operating system coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
- Experience developing software requirements specifications and software documentation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred: knowledge of EW self-protection systems such as RWR, LWS, and MWS.
- Preferred: systems or networking programming experience.
- Preferred: familiarity with C#, Python, and WinForms.
- Preferred: experience developing and executing verification and validation procedures.
- Preferred: basic understanding of software security.
- Preferred: knowledge of DO-178C and experience developing avionics software.
