Base Salary
$165k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale a new Content Delivery Network for Starlink.
- Build robust, responsive, and scalable distributed systems.
- Develop tools, visibility, and alerting mechanisms for diagnosing, operating, and maintaining business-critical systems in real time.
- Design algorithms to optimize hardware utilization and cost efficiency against business-critical performance metrics.
- Implement systems that shape traffic across multiple CDNs.
- Participate in and lead architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Develop prototypes and manage experiments to validate future Starlink designs and use cases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or another STEM discipline plus 5 or more years of professional software development experience, or 7 or more years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- Professional software development experience in C, C++, or Rust.
- At least 3 years of professional distributed systems experience or experience designing, building, and scaling a CDN system.
- Advanced degree in computer science or engineering is preferred.
- At least 3 years of professional networking experience is preferred.
- Experience with complex networking systems across layers 0 through 7 is preferred.
- Experience with edge networking, DNS, traffic management, caching, load balancing, SSL/TLS, DDoS protection, or monitoring is preferred.
- Knowledge of network topology, numerical optimization, graph theory, or convex optimization is preferred.
- Experience developing, debugging, and deploying scalable software used in real-world applications or projects is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and engineering fundamentals are preferred.
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Must meet applicable ITAR citizenship, residency, refugee, asylee, or authorization requirements.
