Responsibilities
- Contribute to the codebase for enterprise SaaS applications and services.
- Build and enhance product features, including Java-based services and JSON or REST services.
- Participate in system design, technical preparation for releases, peer code reviews, refactoring, and debugging complex bugs.
- Improve product quality, maintainability, and testing practices across multiple teams.
- Identify and present alternative technical solutions and contribute to feature decisions.
- Mentor and guide developers and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to teammates and leadership.
- Follow the software development lifecycle and participate in agile development processes and meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
- At least 4 years of professional Java development experience.
- At least 4 years of professional cloud platform experience, preferably with AWS.
- Strong and expert-level knowledge of Java.
- Experience with OS X, Linux, SQL, NoSQL, Git, microservices, and distributed web applications.
- Experience with third-party APIs, AWS APIs, Docker, or other container technologies.
- Experience with JSON or REST services and security-focused API design.
- Extensive understanding of design patterns and object-oriented programming.
- Experience working in Scrum and DevOps environments and understanding of the application development lifecycle.
- Preferred knowledge of JavaScript and experience with Test Driven Development.
- Ability to mentor developers, communicate complex concepts, and contribute to system design and debugging.
