Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable, reliable, and maintainable platforms for acquiring, processing, enriching, and distributing company financial data.
- Own technical design and delivery from requirements through implementation, production readiness, and ongoing operations.
- Design distributed systems, microservices, APIs, data-processing pipelines, and asynchronous event-driven workflows.
- Prototype technical approaches, evaluate trade-offs, and make architectural decisions for large-scale implementations.
- Modernize legacy systems through simplification, automation, migration, and performance optimization.
- Write well-tested production code and contribute to code reviews, engineering standards, observability, monitoring, and production support.
- Collaborate with Product, Data, Engineering, and Data Analyst teams across Pune, New York, Princeton, and other locations.
- Mentor engineers, lead technical discussions and design reviews, and promote engineering excellence.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and supporting production systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software engineering principles.
- Experience designing distributed, scalable, fault-tolerant systems, including microservice and asynchronous or event-driven architectures.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs and building backend services, data-processing pipelines, or workflow platforms.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including data modeling, schema design, and high-volume data access patterns.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, distributed caches, or messaging and queuing technologies such as Redis or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with automated testing, code reviews, source control, CI/CD, production monitoring, logging, metrics, and debugging complex systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, architectural decision-making, and technical ownership skills.
- Preferred experience with full-stack applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Redux, Vue, HTML, and CSS.
- Preferred experience with Linux, containerized development or deployment environments, large-scale data platforms, ETL or data-processing pipelines, distributed object stores, financial or market data systems, legacy modernization, and AI/ML-assisted data-processing workflows.
- Knowledge of financial services, company financial statements, market data, or Bloomberg products is helpful but not required.
