Responsibilities
- Implement physics features that enable Roblox developers to create immersive and dynamic experiences.
- Conduct research and rapid prototyping and translate new ideas into practical solutions.
- Optimize the physics engine and its integrations for robustness and real-time performance.
- Integrate the low-level physics solver into the engine for online gameplay across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external developers to provide technical guidance and resolve challenges.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience writing high-performance, optimized C++ code, or 2 years with an advanced degree.
- Experience using multithreading and SIMD optimization, with knowledge of modern computer architecture and software performance.
- Practical experience applying numerical methods to real-time physics simulation.
- Proven experience developing and deploying real-time and online multiplayer physics simulations.
- Hands-on experience integrating and applying physics SDKs such as PhysX, Havok, and Bullet.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
