Responsibilities
- Develop machine learning models and support their deployment into production.
- Write robust, efficient, maintainable, production-quality code.
- Implement and improve pipelines, tooling, and automation.
- Apply sound engineering practices to model development.
- Monitor model performance and contribute to ongoing optimisation.
- Work with engineering, product, and architecture colleagues to understand requirements and priorities.
- Share knowledge, contribute ideas, and support a collaborative team culture.
Requirements
- Understand computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Have practical experience with classical machine learning and awareness of natural language processing and deep learning.
- Demonstrate strong Python skills and experience with Pandas, scikit-learn, and Jupyter.
- Have experience with SQL and data pipelines for preparing and transforming model-training data.
- Understand model evaluation, monitoring, and performance improvement in production environments.
- Be familiar with model-deployment tools and practices, ideally including Git, CI workflows, and containerisation.
- Be comfortable using statistical concepts to interpret data and assess model performance.
- Work collaboratively, communicate clearly, and deliver agreed outcomes.
