Base Salary
$145k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop algorithms and tools that transform raw pixel values into imagery products.
- Maintain image-processing algorithms and tools throughout their operational life cycle, particularly in commercial operations.
- Develop tools to monitor and maintain image quality and related metrics.
- Collaborate on imaging operations, sensor and satellite designs, and new imagery products and capabilities.
- Support satellite launch and early operations, calibration, commissioning, and operational activities, including occasional after-hours work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy, Physics, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.
- At least five years developing image-processing algorithms.
- At least five years developing software in Python.
- At least three years working with an operational imaging system.
- Strong mathematical foundation in algorithm development, data processing, and uncertainty propagation.
- Preferred experience includes geo-registration algorithms, image-processing and analysis pipelines, CCD and CMOS sensors, reflective or refractive telescopes, satellite or astronomical imagery, production software deployment, and C++ development.
- Ability to communicate and organize effectively, self-teach, and work in a dynamic, challenging environment.
