Base Salary

$120k - $199k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and operate customer-facing subscription applications and services.
  • Develop React, JavaScript, and TypeScript frontend applications for checkout, offers, paywalls, product pages, subscriber lifecycle flows, and mobile integrations.
  • Contribute to Java and Node.js backend services, APIs, integrations, automation, and tooling.
  • Own technical solutions from architecture and implementation through deployment, observability, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Build reusable components, shared libraries, frontend patterns, and application architecture supporting performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Work with AWS infrastructure, Docker, ECS, CI/CD, deployment automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Establish observability and diagnose issues across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and deployment systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident diagnosis, mitigation, communication, and follow-up.
  • Identify technical debt and performance bottlenecks and drive improvements.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to technical standards, architecture discussions, documentation, and engineering practices.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development, testing, troubleshooting, automation, documentation, and operations.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of frontend development experience with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • At least 3 years of backend development experience with Java, Node.js, or both.
  • At least 2 years of experience deploying and operating applications in AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, accessibility, browser behavior, and frontend performance.
  • Experience with frontend architecture, reusable components, state management, API integration, and automated testing.
  • Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs and distributed backend services.
  • Experience with AWS services including ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with Jenkins or comparable CI/CD and deployment automation tooling.
  • Experience with AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or comparable Infrastructure as Code technologies.
  • Experience building and operating containerized applications using Docker and ECS.
  • Experience with production observability, logs, metrics, dashboards, alerting, troubleshooting, on-call rotations, and incident response.
  • Ability to independently scope and drive complex technical work from design through production.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and significant hands-on use of AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Preferred qualifications include 7+ years of frontend experience, 4+ years of backend experience, and 3+ years operating AWS applications.
  • Preferred experience includes frontend monorepos, shared component libraries, design systems, high-volume subscription or payment experiences, native mobile integrations, Datadog, Catchpoint, mentoring, and cross-team architectural influence.
