Base Salary

$185k - $254k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, implement, and test complex software applications for space systems and technologies.
  • Write scalable, optimized, maintainable code and conduct unit testing and code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot software issues and perform performance profiling and debugging of complex systems.
  • Manage code changes using Git and document software configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
  • Lead or contribute to large-scale software projects from inception through completion.
  • Create software designs using SysML/UML and utilize static analysis tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree; a master's degree plus 10 years of experience is also accepted.
  • Typically 12+ years of related experience.
  • Extensive expertise in multiple programming languages and software development principles.
  • Ability to design, architect, implement, and test complex software systems with strong knowledge of algorithms, performance tuning, and scalability.
  • Expertise in secure coding, software architecture, kernel-level programming, scripting languages, automation tools, and debugging complex systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, and Java.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum/Kanban, or Kanban/Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for an active clearance.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, SysML/UML, static analysis tools, and technical documentation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, decision-making, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
