Responsibilities
- Implement and optimize computer vision and perception algorithms in C/C++ for low-SWaP embedded processors.
- Configure CMake and modern C++ build systems and support software deployment to unmanned systems.
- Write unit tests, validate software, debug code, and support benchtop testing, demonstrations, and operational field experimentation.
- Develop software design documentation, technical reports, and presentation inputs for customers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with software developers, external developers, and customers to design reusable software across programs.
- Contribute to requirements-driven algorithm design, process improvements, coding standards, and Scrum-based development.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers and deliver work according to project schedules and budgets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5–8 years of relevant software engineering or related experience.
- Strong C/C++ software engineering skills, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and development workflows.
- Experience with CMake, modern C++ build systems, Python tooling and scripting, Ubuntu and/or CentOS, unit testing, and debugging.
- Preferred experience with DDS, gRPC, and Rust.
- Familiarity with Git, IDEs, debuggers, machine learning concepts, and computer vision concepts.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance are required; an active clearance is a plus.
- Willingness to work on government contracts and travel within the continental United States up to 20%.
