Base Salary

$105k - $160k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Implement and optimize computer vision and perception algorithms in C++ for low-SWaP embedded processors.
  • Configure CMake and modern C++ build systems and integrate software into unmanned aerial systems.
  • Write unit tests, validate software, debug code, and support component and integrated-system testing.
  • Develop software designs, technical documentation, technical reports, and customer presentation inputs.
  • Derive algorithm designs from software requirements and collaborate with developers and customers to reuse software across programs.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers and contribute to process improvement.
  • Deliver work according to project schedules, budgets, coding standards, and software process requirements.
  • Support benchtop testing, demonstrations, and operationally relevant field experimentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in software engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software development workflows.
  • Experience with CMake, modern C++ build systems, Python, Ubuntu and/or CentOS Linux, unit testing, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with source code configuration management tools such as Git, IDEs, and debuggers.
  • Experience with DDS, gRPC, and Rust is preferred.
  • Understanding of machine learning and computer vision concepts and demonstrated mathematical and analytical skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required; applicants must be willing to work on government contracts and obtain a DoD security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel within the continental U.S. frequently, at 50% or more.
  • Willingness to obtain or already hold an FAA Part 107 certification for operating small UAS.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, ownership, and teamwork skills.
