Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee end-to-end software solutions, engineering standards, architecture, and technical troubleshooting for trading systems.
- Design and build high-performance, latency-sensitive services while accounting for upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Develop, review, debug, and maintain secure, high-quality production code.
- Lead technical analysis, estimation, planning, code reviews, architecture sessions, and retrospectives.
- Establish reliability goals and implement observability, resilience patterns, and operational readiness practices.
- Lead incident response and post-incident reviews, driving automation and remediation of recurring issues.
- Uphold secure-by-default engineering practices and risk and control standards across the software development lifecycle.
- Guide integration contracts, API and versioning strategies, and deprecation paths for platform services.
- Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools and define validation standards for correctness, performance, and security.
- Mentor engineers and promote inclusive collaboration and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience with Java.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for mission-critical platforms.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Java 17 or later, including concurrency, memory management, and object-oriented design.
- Experience designing clean APIs and rollout strategies for distributed systems, including integration and backward-compatibility considerations.
- Practical experience with Spring or Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes, Linux, and networking and messaging concepts.
- Proficiency across the software development lifecycle, including automated testing, application resiliency, security, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, and secure input and output handling.
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences and ability to work in globally distributed teams.
- Preferred: exposure to MQ, Kafka, FIX, Solace, observability stacks, resilience engineering, low-latency platforms, Python, and regulated environments with strong auditability and controls.
