Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data architectures and pipelines for accurate, complete, consistent, accessible, and secure data.
- Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes capable of handling required data volumes and velocity.
- Develop Kafka Streams, Spring Kafka, and Apache Flink applications for real-time event processing.
- Implement parsers for ISO 20022 XML, SWIFT MT, JSON, and flat-file message formats.
- Build transformation logic to flatten hierarchical messages into target Avro schemas.
- Implement stateful transformations including aggregations, joins, and windowed operations.
- Integrate source systems through IBM MQ and Kafka topics.
- Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
- Write clean, testable, and documented code; create unit and integration tests; and participate in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot application issues using the ELK stack and application logs.
- Collaborate across teams, participate in Scrum ceremonies, communicate complex information, and influence stakeholders.
- Manage risk, strengthen controls, and contribute to policies, procedures, and operational effectiveness.
- Lead complex assignments or teams, guide team members, and support objective setting and development where applicable.
Requirements
- Experience creating data products, pipelines, and scheduled jobs in Databricks on AWS.
- Experience developing real-time event-processing applications with Kafka Streams, Spring Kafka, and Apache Flink.
- Strong proficiency with cloud technologies including Snowflake, AWS, and Databricks.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
- Strong unit-testing skills using JUnit 5 and Mockito.
- Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience with IBM MQ or JMS-based messaging is valued.
- Knowledge of payment processing and data products in a data mesh environment is valued.
- Familiarity with the ELK stack for logging and troubleshooting is valued.
- Experience with SWIFT parsing libraries such as Prowide Core is valued.
- Experience with Flink stateful processing, checkpointing, and state backends is valued.
- Ability to demonstrate risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills.
