  • Collaborate with autonomy, perception, flight operations, external partners, platform integrators, C2 providers, and vehicle vendors.
  • Mentor mid-level engineers, support onboarding and growth planning, interview candidates, and help define the technical skills bar.
  • Lead design reviews, UI/UX prototyping, API and ICD definitions, documentation, and software quality practices.
  • Own build, configuration, validation, and containerized release processes for mission-ready ground stations and C2 servers.
  • Travel to test sites and support flight tests, range exercises, on-water trials, integration events, and live mission operations.
  • Debug and tune performance across user interfaces, APIs, databases, network connections, radio links, and telemetry streams.
  • Architect and implement post-mission debrief, telemetry analysis, log parsing, playback, and visualization utilities.
  • Build automation and tools that improve deployment pipelines, testing, mission reliability, and simulation-based operator testing.
  • Own interoperability and integration with A-GRA, UCI, OMS, STANAG 4586, MAVLink, and related C2 architectures.
  • Travel approximately 10–20% of the year for field integration, demonstrations, and test events.

Requirements

  • Full-stack or backend experience with C/C++, Python, TypeScript, or Go, including service orchestration, command/status interfaces, and data pipelines.
  • Deep familiarity with networked and distributed systems, UDP/TCP transport, binary protocols, reliable messaging, pub-sub/IPC middleware, and serialization or IDL tooling.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools for design, implementation, debugging, testing, and code review while retaining technical ownership and validation discipline.
  • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, preferably including spatial or geographic data and PostGIS.
  • Experience owning a major software capability from architecture through field delivery and mentoring engineers.
  • Experience authoring or negotiating API specifications, OpenAPI/Swagger contracts, or ICDs.
  • Strong debugging and profiling skills involving browser rendering, API latency, and network connectivity.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  • Preferred experience with GIS, Maplibre GL, Leaflet, CesiumJS, OpenLayers, and 2D/3D spatial visualization.
  • Preferred familiarity with WebRTC, HLS, RTSP-to-Web gateways, GStreamer, and FFmpeg.
  • Preferred experience with post-mission telemetry analysis, log parsing, interactive playback, containerization, Kubernetes, k3s/k3d, and local, edge, or cloud deployments.
  • Preferred experience with MAVLink, STANAG 4586, A-GRA, UCI, OMS, flight operators, pilots, or military stakeholders; active Secret or Top Secret clearance is also preferred.

Benefits

  • Full-time regular employees receive bonus, benefits, and equity in addition to pay within the applicable range.
  • The position is full-time and typically requires 10–20% travel to field integration, customer demonstration, and test events.
