Base Salary
$245k - $335k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, LLM inference, agents, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, governance, and observability.
- Invent and apply foundation-model optimization techniques to improve production AI scalability, cost, latency, throughput, and hardware utilization.
- Define the technical vision, roadmap, and enterprise architecture standards for foundational AI systems.
- Own model routing, caching, orchestration, and hybrid or multi-model workload integration.
- Champion responsible AI principles including transparency, reproducibility, and fairness-by-design.
- Lead architecture direction, mentorship, internal education, and best-practice dissemination across engineering teams.
- Influence research-to-production processes, cross-functional stakeholders, and enterprise AI strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus at least 8 years of AI/ML development experience, or a master's degree in one of these fields plus at least 6 years of experience.
- At least 8 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
- Experience designing and deploying scalable, responsible AI systems on cloud platforms.
- Experience with LLM inference, similarity search, vector databases, guardrails, memory, agentic AI systems, and AI workflows.
- Experience optimizing AI training and inference for hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
- Experience architecting enterprise AI standards, governance, observability, evaluation frameworks, and federated or multi-cloud strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor multiple engineering teams and influence stakeholders up to the VP level.
- Strong research application, communication, presentation, and technical leadership skills.
