Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
  • Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.
  • Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and AI-generated outputs.
  • Use software development lifecycle tooling and automation to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
  • Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
  • Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security, and compliant usage controls.
  • Advanced skills in Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery methods, and all aspects of the software development life cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of application resiliency and security.
  • Technical experience in cloud, artificial intelligence, or machine learning, along with practical cloud-native experience.
  • Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
  • Preferred: experience building SDKs, frameworks, or developer platforms consumed by other engineering teams.
  • Preferred: experience with AI-native tooling, AI-assisted development workflows, or production software leveraging AI or building AI capabilities.
