Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish validation standards for AI-assisted outputs covering secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security.
- Use software development life cycle tools and approved automation capabilities to improve engineering efficiency at scale.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Advanced Python skills.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods and all aspects of the software development life cycle.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, application resiliency, and security.
- Technical proficiency in an area such as cloud, artificial intelligence, or machine learning, along with practical cloud-native experience.
- Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Preferred advanced skills in Java and JavaScript.
- Preferred experience building SDKs, frameworks, or developer platforms consumed by other engineering teams.
- Preferred experience with AI-native tooling, AI-assisted development workflows, and production software leveraging or building AI capabilities.
