Observability Tech Lead

Responsibilities
- Mentor and evangelize observability best practices, SLIs, SLOs, and reliability culture across engineering teams.
- Contribute to and maintain Tulip’s triage and remediation processes as a player/coach.
- Perform incident response and debug production issues across the entire stack.
- Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure and tooling used by Tulip’s engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working with open-source observability tools such as Loki, Grafana, Tempo, and Mimir.
- Hands-on experience instrumenting distributed systems with OpenTelemetry and managing Prometheus metrics pipelines at scale.
- Direct experience developing, distributing, and iterating on the effectiveness of Claude Skills, Gemini Gems, or other generic AI processes.
- Experience working with time-series data, ideally using PromQL.
- Ability to reason about systems at scale, including edge cases, failure modes, and system life cycles.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to establish technical direction and teach observability and SLA practices.
