Senior Software Engineer, Business Map

$125k - $254k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship features in Business Map backend services from written design through production rollout.
- Own feature areas end to end, including tests, monitoring, and staged feature-flag rollouts.
- Collaborate with partner engineering teams adopting new location and organization data.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and fix root causes of production issues.
- Write feature designs, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and support newer engineers through pairing and review.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building backend services in Java, Kotlin, or another object-oriented language.
- Proficiency with relational databases and SQL, including Postgres.
- Experience owning and operating production systems, including on-call and live-issue debugging.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven messaging, or microservices.
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous projects from design through production.
- Clear written and verbal communication with engineers and product partners.
- Experience or strong interest in using coding agents and AI-assisted development.
- Preferred experience includes large, long-lived production codebases, multi-tenant data models, account hierarchies, multi-location systems, gRPC, GraphQL, event streaming platforms, React, TypeScript, and restaurant or multi-location business operations.
