Base Salary
$90k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop spacecraft simulations and mathematical models for engineering and training simulations.
- Perform systems engineering for simulation requirements, interfaces, design, and performance.
- Conduct engineering analysis using simulation.
- Integrate, test, and verify simulation software and mathematical models.
- Integrate and test simulation software and hardware.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors across NASA programs and projects.
- Ensure adherence to NASA Johnson Space Center engineering software processes.
- Progress toward technical leadership of a software development team, including feature prioritization, customer support, scheduling, presentations, and demonstrations.
- Support customer status reporting, people leadership, project leadership, recruiting, and team member development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- At least ten years of experience in simulation development.
- Experience providing technical leadership to simulation software development teams.
- Strong C++ programming skills.
- Experience developing software in a Linux environment and coding with Python.
- Experience in simulation integration and development, mathematical model or simulation unit testing, and simulation verification and validation.
- Experience across the entire software life cycle.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required for access to U.S. government facilities.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree, Trick Simulation Environment experience, NASA task order and proposal experience, NASA-JSC simulation development, object-oriented analysis and design, 3-D graphics, real-time video acquisition and processing, Git, human-rated space vehicle subsystems, and project management.
- Strong verbal and written communication, leadership, customer relationship, prioritization, flexibility, teamwork, and independent-work skills are required.
