Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the Azure infrastructure-as-code codebase, including reusable modules, standards, drift detection, policy-as-code, and secure defaults.
- Design and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for infrastructure and application deployments, including approvals, OIDC authentication, safety gates, testing, scanning, and rollback paths.
- Operate multi-region Azure environments covering App Service, Functions, Logic Apps, AKS, networking, edge security, identity, secrets, databases, messaging, and observability.
- Manage Azure networking, WAF, DNS, private connectivity, certificates, managed identities, Microsoft Entra ID, and RBAC.
- Support Azure SQL and PostgreSQL Flexible Server provisioning, configuration, backups, geo-replication, and basic performance issues.
- Build automation with PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, and Azure Automation runbooks, using AI-assisted and agentic workflows where appropriate.
- Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, lead root-cause discussions, write post-incident reviews, and maintain runbooks and architecture documentation.
- Collaborate with Developers, Product Managers, and QA to improve reliability, deployment safety, and environment consistency.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a DevOps, platform, or cloud infrastructure role focused primarily on Microsoft Azure.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Production Azure infrastructure-as-code experience, including reusable modules, deployment and state management, and configuration-drift remediation.
- Hands-on experience building GitHub Actions workflows with reusable workflows, environments, approvals, and OIDC authentication to Azure.
- Production experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Experience with Azure networking and security, including Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Private Endpoints, Private DNS, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, and Key Vault.
- Experience with Azure Front Door, WAF, DNS management, and TLS certificate lifecycle management.
- Experience with Docker, Helm, Azure Container Registry, Kubernetes, and AKS upgrades.
- Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, and Azure CLI.
- Experience with Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps, API Management, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, KQL, and Grafana.
- Working knowledge of Azure SQL, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, Redis, backups, geo-replication, basic performance tuning, and Elasticsearch.
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted tooling or agentic workflows in day-to-day engineering work.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-400 are an asset.
