Base Salary

$166k - $220k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy software solutions for customer missions and on-orbit spacecraft capabilities.
  • Architect and integrate orbital software with legacy systems, Lattice, multimodal payload platforms, bus platforms, and networking solutions.
  • Write code, develop algorithms, and scale mission capabilities for different users and customers.
  • Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
  • Create and analyze metrics for debugging and monitoring, triage issues, identify root causes, and coordinate follow-up actions.
  • Partner with end users to translate mission needs into features while balancing user experience and engineering constraints.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to software development efforts supporting Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or physics.
  • Ability to understand complex systems and detailed requirements quickly and solve complex technical problems with little oversight.
  • Clear communication and organizational skills, including documentation and training material development.
  • Ideally 3+ years of professional experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, Rust, or Go.
  • Experience with spacecraft software systems and spacecraft operations.
  • Experience with satellite mission autonomy, including fault isolation and recovery systems.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Advanced expertise with Python, Go, Rust, or C++ is preferred.
  • Experience with deployment tooling such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Helm is preferred.
  • Experience with OMS/UCI standards and modular software services development is preferred.
