Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain software services that steer traffic across the AWS global backbone network.
- Develop traffic engineering controllers that detect congestion and failures in real time and automatically reroute traffic.
- Write clean, well-tested production code and contribute to API design, data modeling, scalability, and reliability decisions.
- Build monitoring, alerting, and automation tooling for network health visibility.
- Collaborate with network and systems engineers and partner teams to turn operational needs into software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, simplify and automate existing systems, and join an on-call rotation typically one week every two months.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
