Base Salary
$154k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical distributed telemetry systems.
- Deliver projects from initial ideas and requirements through production operations.
- Develop new features and improve system performance, reliability, and availability.
- Write and review pull requests and design documents and contribute to open-source projects.
- Shepherd automated release rollouts and participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations.
- Collaborate with squad members, support teammates, and participate in design discussions.
- Use observability data and customer feedback to iterate on products and services.
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language; Go is used, while Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar experience is transferable.
- Some experience delivering software projects from requirements and ideation through customer release.
- Some experience developing cloud software or working in systems engineering.
- Some experience with on-call responsibilities and the DevOps model.
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
- Familiarity with using metrics, logs, and traces to debug problems.
- Strong collaboration, communication, customer focus, pragmatism, and self-directed execution.
- Kubernetes experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with queue systems such as the Kafka protocol is a plus.
- Experience using Grafana and Prometheus in operational, on-call, hobby, or homelab contexts is a plus.
- Exposure to microservices, distributed systems, or infrastructure as code is a plus.
