Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate public-facing REST APIs focused on consistency, scalability, and developer experience.
- Implement authentication and authorization, rate limiting, versioning, filtering, pagination, idempotency, error semantics, and backward compatibility standards.
- Build batch and bulk API operations for high-volume synchronization and enterprise migration workflows.
- Decouple the REST API layer from monolithic dependencies and implement contract testing to protect REST stability from GraphQL changes.
- Create scaffolding, templates, shared libraries, SDKs, documentation, and reference implementations for integrations.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and quality gates for integrations and ecosystem services.
- Build infrastructure for publishing, versioning, and supporting integrations in internal and external marketplaces such as Workato and Tray.
- Enable automation-driven onboarding, connection creation, credential management, and environment configuration.
- Develop reusable integration foundations and enterprise building blocks for SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and Microsoft Dynamics systems.
- Ensure integrations meet enterprise requirements for security, auditability, performance, and operability.
- Own production services end-to-end, including monitoring, on-call support, incident response, root-cause analysis, and hardening.
- Drive performance and reliability improvements using SLIs/SLOs, logs, traces, and metrics.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems, APIs, or platform products.
- Strong service-oriented backend development experience with TypeScript, Go, or C#, plus willingness to learn other languages.
- Strong relational database experience, including MySQL or PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
- Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals such as reliability, scalability, consistency, and failure modes.
- Experience shipping production-grade APIs with a focus on developer experience and platform usability.
- Strong testing mindset covering unit, integration, end-to-end, and contract testing, with hands-on CI/CD experience.
- Experience with integration ecosystems, API platforms, SDKs, iPaaS/connectors, marketplaces, webhooks/events, or ETL/synchronization patterns is a plus.
- Familiarity with OAuth2/OIDC, API keys, token rotation, and least-privilege security patterns is a plus.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or ECC 6, SAP BTP, Oracle EBS/NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
- Experience building self-service administration and debugging tools for external developers or customers is a plus.
- Workato, Tray, or Zapier experience from a product or platform engineering perspective is a plus.
