Responsibilities
- Shape AI platform initiatives from concept through implementation and influence technical direction and strategic technology decisions.
- Design, develop, and maintain Python backend services, APIs, microservices, and ETL pipelines running in Azure or AWS.
- Build and iterate LLM-based and agentic AI applications with attention to reliability, quality, and AI limitations.
- Translate requirements and problem statements from multiple teams into production-quality code and proof-of-concepts.
- Collaborate with Cloud Operations, Solution Architecture, Product Engineering, Product Management, and subject-matter experts.
- Lead the technical approach for assigned work from design through implementation, including architecture, testing, validation, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and integrate applications written in other languages such as Java and TypeScript.
- Progress projects from initial concepts and prototypes toward production while contributing to technical plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 4 years of experience developing Python backend systems, including APIs, microservices, and ETL pipelines.
- At least 5 years of experience working in cross-functional agile teams.
- At least 3 years of experience with LLMs or agentic AI applications and their reliability challenges.
- Experience contributing to or defining software architecture for complex systems.
- Experience with AI/ML workflows such as RAG, vector databases, or evaluation techniques.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.
- Experience working in Azure or AWS environments, including deploying or integrating backend services.
