Lead Site Reliability Engineer

- Lead resiliency design reviews, break complex problems into actionable work, act as technical lead for medium- to large-sized products, and mentor engineers.
- Guide design development and consensus-building across engineering teams.
- Design and implement automated CI/CD deployment approaches.
- Develop and implement application and platform availability, reliability, and scalability solutions.
- Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code.
- Use SLIs and SLOs to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Support adoption of SRE best practices across teams.
- Provide 24/7 production support for business-critical applications.
- Use authorized AI capabilities for incident triage, troubleshooting, post-incident analysis, knowledge capture, and reliability workflow improvements.
- Evaluate AI-assisted recommendations, establish usage guardrails, and ensure resiliency, security, traceability, and auditability.
- Troubleshoot networking issues involving DNS, TCP/IP, routing, TLS, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Participate in critical incident taskforce calls and support change management.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in SRE concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Proficiency in SRE culture and principles, observability, white-box and black-box monitoring, SLO-based alerting, and telemetry collection.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, or .NET.
- Experience with enterprise-authorized AI capabilities for SRE workflows, including validation practices and data-sensitivity awareness.
- Ability to evaluate AI-assisted operational recommendations, define team guardrails, and align outcomes with resiliency and security expectations.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins or GitLab and infrastructure automation with Terraform.
- Experience deploying, scaling, and operating production containerized services using Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- Ability to troubleshoot networking issues using structured debugging.
- Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka.
- Preferred: deep networking and systems expertise, Linux performance tuning, and system-level troubleshooting.
- Preferred: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or AWS Professional, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Terraform Associate, or equivalent certification.
- Preferred: experience mentoring junior engineers, driving SRE adoption, communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and managing critical incidents and changes.
- Preferred: familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, and other agile practices.
