Responsibilities
- Own software initiatives from open problem through design, implementation, production rollout, and post-release support.
- Partner with Product and Design on scope, timing, cost, risks, and pragmatic implementation tradeoffs.
- Replace Oracle ADF/JSF screens with React and TypeScript screens using the Holocron and Tangos shared design system.
- Design and build Java APIs with Spring Boot for applications, integrations, and future AI-agent use cases.
- Improve code health, test coverage, maintainability, and engineering practices across team codebases.
- Participate in on-call and incident response, lead or contribute to postmortems, and apply lessons learned.
- Fix security findings in owned code and ship through the CI/CD pipeline.
- Mentor and ramp up newer engineers through pairing, design reviews, and code reviews.
- Contribute to technical decisions, retrospectives, AI workflows, prompts, and lightweight agents that improve team productivity.
Requirements
- Typically 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of a large production B2B application feature or initiative.
- Fluency in Java on the server side, including Java EE and/or Spring Boot, with comfort using relational databases.
- Production experience with React, ideally with TypeScript, including building screens against designed APIs.
- Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy systems while maintaining delivery and explaining implementation tradeoffs.
- Experience mentoring other engineers and measurably improving their capabilities.
- Daily use of AI coding and research tools, understanding of their failure modes, and ability to integrate an LLM API into a product when appropriate.
- Oracle SQL and PL/SQL experience is a plus.
- Experience with Oracle ADF, JSF, shared component libraries, or design systems is desirable.
- AWS experience, particularly infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines, is desirable.
- Experience in real estate, facilities, maintenance, or workplace software domains such as IWMS, CAFM, or CMMS is desirable.
