Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the design system, including design tokens, a shadcn/ui component library, and Tailwind CSS conventions.
- Define and enforce frontend patterns using React Query, React Hook Form, and Zod.
- Shape conversational interfaces for Slack Block Kit and Microsoft Teams Adaptive Cards.
- Implement WCAG accessibility standards in brand guidelines and the codebase.
- Maintain Biome configuration, Playwright end-to-end test coverage, frontend tooling, and performance optimization.
- Translate design intent into reusable component abstractions, motion, transitions, and micro-interactions.
- Partner with founders and engineers to maintain a polished frontend layer over the API.
- Integrate AI coding tools and custom lint and agent rules into the frontend workflow.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building product interfaces and a portfolio of shipped, highly polished features.
- Primary ownership of a production design system or component library, demonstrated through a public repository, portfolio, or detailed walkthrough.
- Deep expertise in React, strict TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, and Radix UI.
- Experience translating visual decisions into design tokens, component abstractions, and lint rules.
- Experience enforcing WCAG accessibility standards in a living codebase.
- Hands-on production experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Ability to act as the sole frontend UX standard-setter across a company.
- Preferred experience with streaming responses, generative canvases, human-in-the-loop views, conversational interfaces, chatbots, Slack Block Kit, Microsoft Teams Adaptive Cards, CLI design patterns, Framer Motion, or Radix transitions.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
