Base Salary
$140k - $188k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, optimize, and deploy AI/ML models end-to-end, including data pipelines and training workflows.
- Maintain and improve production AI systems through monitoring, debugging, reliability work, and scalability enhancements.
- Design and ship agentic systems and build RAG pipelines using chunking strategies, embedding models, and vector databases.
- Develop APIs and integrate internal and third-party services.
- Contribute to AI architecture decisions, code reviews, design discussions, and engineering practice improvements.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams and communicate technical tradeoffs to non-specialists.
- Use AI-forward coding tools such as Claude and Cursor in daily engineering work.
- Support more junior engineers and own meaningful work through production delivery.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years focused on production AI/ML systems and hands-on generative AI development.
- Strong software engineering background using Python or a similar language.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably with in-depth AWS and AWS generative AI knowledge.
- Experience designing and shipping agentic systems, using AI frameworks and orchestration tools, and working with evaluation and LLM application observability tools.
- Understanding of AI safety, responsible AI principles, prompt injection defenses, and PII handling.
- Hands-on experience building RAG pipelines, including chunking strategies, embedding models, and vector databases.
- API development experience involving internal and third-party services.
- Cost optimization expertise covering token economics, caching strategies, model routing, and quantization.
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
- Daily usage and knowledge of AI-forward coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
- Strong problem-solving, technical judgment, collaboration, communication, and ownership skills.
