Responsibilities
- Build and own end-to-end ML and AI solutions through deployment, monitoring, refinement, and iterative enhancement.
- Build monitoring, telemetry, evaluation, and feedback-loop systems to identify model failures, performance deterioration, usage patterns, and user-journey KPIs.
- Architect scalable ML platforms and production data pipelines while integrating new data sources.
- Develop statistical, traditional ML, NLP, and LLM-based solutions for SurveyMonkey’s products in collaboration with Product, Design, and engineering teams.
- Train, fine-tune, and deploy models, including LLM-powered agents, autonomous processes, RAG, context enrichment, and guided generation systems.
- Drive research, external-solution adoption strategies, team capability development, hiring, training, technical leadership, and mentorship.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience building and maintaining machine learning and data science models in production.
- Strong expertise in natural language processing, statistical modeling and analysis, modern machine learning methods, and novel model architectures.
- Experience handling data at scale, including human-in-the-loop labeling, training and scaling usable data, and exploratory data analysis.
- Experience creating evaluations and evaluation platforms for non-deterministic systems, including LLM-as-Judge techniques, inferred signals, and traditional model evaluation.
- Experience developing production monitoring and feedback loops using active feedback, passive signals, and user behavior.
- SaaS development and deployment experience with appropriately scaled ML solutions, CI/CD code lifecycle practices, and AWS environments and services including Kafka, EKS, SageMaker, and Athena.
- Experience building LLM-powered product integrations involving agents, autonomous processes, RAG, context enrichment, prompt engineering, guided generation, and oversight.
- Proven technical leadership and mentorship abilities, including mentoring engineers across teams and managing complex deliverables.
