Base Salary
$121k - $181k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop AI inference networking open-source software as part of a globally distributed development team.
- Cultivate Equinix’s presence in open-source organizations and standards bodies, including the Cloud Native Computing Foundation and Linux Foundation.
- Work with stakeholders to understand and document product features and provide level-of-effort estimates for the product backlog.
- Coordinate with technical project managers and product management teams to define schedules.
- Evaluate technologies and recommend solutions for product features and platform goals.
- Apply strong design, development, and engineering standards while prioritizing parallel work and responding to ad-hoc requests.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing and building highly redundant SDN network infrastructure, with emphasis on L4/L7 proxying, HTTP/1.1, HTTP/2, gRPC, SNI routing, mTLS, and proxy tools such as HAProxy, Envoy, and NGINX.
- 5+ years of experience applying networking and security principles in cloud infrastructure deployments.
- Demonstrated experience with SSH, TLS, IPsec, WireGuard, IAM, VPCs, IaaS peering, and VPN solutions.
- Deep understanding of the OSI model and its application.
- Strong record of delivering resilient network systems and services with a focus on end-user experience.
- Strong hands-on technical skills, including complex network system design and implementation.
- Familiarity with APIs and designing solutions for network automation, dashboards, or monitoring.
- Programming experience in languages such as Go, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- A DevOps mindset and experience improving CI/CD with GitHub Actions and using DORA metrics.
