Base Salary
$180k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze requirements from product, program, business, network operations, and partner engineering teams.
- Design, code, test, and operate high-throughput services, APIs, data models, and configuration surfaces for money movement.
- Take technical ownership of multiple interdependent platform domains and serve as a subject-matter expert.
- Migrate capabilities from legacy services while maintaining production traffic and retire replaced systems.
- Convert engineering-managed processes into configuration that operators and partner teams can manage independently.
- Partner with ML and analytics teams to productionize routing and estimate intelligence and instrument model signals.
- Participate in Tier-1 on-call rotation, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system stability.
- Work within change-control, SOX, and PCI constraints.
- Guide technical strategy while leading and shipping features and systems.
- Evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability and coach peers on responsible AI use.
- Deliver well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions and contribute to cross-team technical designs.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years of professional experience.
- Breadth across system types and demonstrated ability to become productive quickly in unfamiliar codebases or domains.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed backend systems, including high-throughput, low-latency services.
- Experience with data modeling and configuration-driven or rules-engine systems.
- Experience modeling complex domains with interacting attributes, sparse valid combinations, and evolving schemas.
- Experience migrating or decommissioning production systems while they remain in use.
- Experience evaluating AI-generated code and coaching others on responsible AI use.
- Knowledge of backend programming languages such as Java or Golang.
- Experience with software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms.
- Experience with AWS and containerized deployment using Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
- Preferred experience with analytics or data engineering, payments or money movement, external partner integrations, productionizing ML models, internal tooling with frontend work, or time- and schedule-based logic across jurisdictions.
