Base Salary
$180k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze requirements from product, program, business, network operations, and partner engineering teams.
- Design, code, test, and operate high-throughput backend services, APIs, data models, and configuration surfaces for real-money movement.
- Own technical areas across GNX domains and serve as the subject-matter expert for design, feasibility, and correctness.
- Migrate capabilities from legacy services while maintaining production traffic and retire replaced systems.
- Convert engineering workflows into configurable capabilities for operators and partner teams.
- Partner with ML and analytics teams to productionize routing and estimate intelligence and instrument supporting signals.
- Participate in Tier-1 on-call rotations, resolve incidents, and maintain system stability.
- Guide technical strategy, ship features and systems, promote engineering excellence, and contribute to cross-team technical designs.
- Evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability and coach peers on responsible AI use.
- Work within change-control and SOX- and PCI-scoped compliance constraints.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years of professional experience.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed backend systems, including high-throughput and low-latency services.
- Experience with data modeling, configuration-driven systems, rules engines, and domains with many interacting dimensions and sparse valid combinations.
- Experience migrating or decommissioning production systems while they remain in use.
- Experience evaluating AI-generated code and coaching others on responsible AI use.
- Knowledge of backend programming languages such as Java or Golang.
- Experience with software development practices, system design, design patterns, and algorithms.
- Experience with AWS and containerized deployment using Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
- Preferred: experience in analytics or data engineering, payments or money movement, external partner integrations, productionizing ML models, internal tooling and frontend work, or time- and schedule-based logic across jurisdictions.
