Responsibilities

  • Run and monitor scheduled batch jobs and critical data pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot system errors, performance issues, failed jobs, and queue bottlenecks.
  • Manage incidents, restore services, and collaborate with application owners on problem management and root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain documentation, logs, runbooks, and detailed shift-handover records.
  • Track metrics and KPIs for batch-support activities.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure job dependencies are met.
  • Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting and configuration-management tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated production-support or operations experience, ideally in a 24x7 rotation with real-time incident response.
  • Basic understanding of Linux, Unix, Windows systems, and networking.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
  • Basic understanding of batch processing, including Control-M, BMC, and SFTP.
  • Familiarity with batch scripting and system architecture.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
  • Proficiency in Python for operational automation.
  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and remain effective under pressure.
