Responsibilities
- Embed SAST, SCA, DAST, and secrets-scanning controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement shift-left security practices to detect and remediate vulnerabilities early in the software development lifecycle.
- Partner with application teams on secure design, threat modeling, architecture reviews, secure coding, and remediation strategies.
- Design, build, document, and maintain reusable code for SOAR policy-as-code and security operations and analytics platforms.
- Lead threat modeling for pipeline architectures and deployment patterns, including runner trust, artifact integrity, and software supply chain risks.
- Define secure-by-default pipeline and software development patterns aligned with ASVS Level 2 and organizational needs.
- Assess application security risks and recommend solutions aligned with industry standards.
- Collaborate with globally distributed and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Must meet all eligibility requirements in DOD Instruction 1322.29 and NAVADMIN 222/15.
- Requires 8+ years of security engineering or DevSecOps experience, or military service/experience or a college degree in computer science, data communications, electrical engineering, or computer engineering plus 3 years of work experience.
- Hands-on experience with at least a couple of the listed technologies, including SCA, SAST, API security, DAST, OPSWAT MetaDefender, or Terraform.
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, ideally GitHub Actions.
- Working knowledge of implementing secure systems using major public cloud providers.
- Understanding of SAST, SCA, DAST, DevSecOps, authentication, authorization, and distributed systems such as microservices and Kubernetes.
- Experience building automations and services with Terraform, Ansible, Python, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of OWASP, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, ASVS, SAML, HMAC, and OAuth.
- Strong communication, presentation, organization, prioritization, teamwork, initiative, and multitasking skills.
