Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services for the AI agent platform, including Coupa API tooling, context and state management, and isolated execution environments.
- Build evaluation and logging pipelines to measure behavior, detect regressions, and convert production failures into improvements.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to ship supplier-facing invoicing, catalog, and strategic-views use cases.
- Own production deployment, configuration, scaling, security, and operational reliability.
- Make architecture decisions involving runtime isolation, credential handling, audit logging, and tenant separation.
- Improve team engineering standards for code quality, testing, and operational discipline.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience shipping production software.
- Strong Python skills; TypeScript experience is a plus.
- Experience building and operating services on a major cloud platform, preferably AWS, including containerized deployments and infrastructure as code.
- Experience building backend services, platforms, or infrastructure used by other engineers or systems, such as APIs, SDKs, runtimes, or internal platforms.
- Production operations experience covering reliability, observability, failure modes, and least-privilege security.
- Ability to write clean, well-tested code and reason about latency, failure modes, and user outcomes.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Curiosity about LLMs and willingness to learn the space; prior AI-agent experience is not required.
- Public GitHub, blog, or portfolio is strongly preferred.
- Experience with agent frameworks, evaluation tooling, production LLM observability, LLM-powered products, regulated enterprise domains, procurement, or fintech is advantageous.
- Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, or comparable managed-LLM and sandboxed-execution infrastructure is advantageous.
- Experience using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent agentic coding tools is advantageous.
